The Sanctuary of Truth (also called Wang Boran and Prasat) is a 105m high covering 2 rais, wooden temple featuring contemporary fantastic religious art, currently being built at North Pattaya, Naklua Soi 12. The construction has been initiated and sponsored by Lek Viriyaphant, an eccentric Thai millionaire and patron of culture. The building was constructed according to ancient Thai ingenuity and every square inch of the building is covered with wooden carve sculpture.

In 1981 wealthy business man Lek Viriyaphant began building his vision, scheduled to be complete in 2025. The place combines ancient philosophy of living, ancient knowledge and eastern philosophy.

From the last 2 decades until now, the world has been under the influence of western culture, being admired from the latest technology and capitalism. Many natural wonders have been degraded and the human moral levels have dropped. Their attempts to control nature have transformed many people into egotistical individuals who are out to destroy one another through incessant wars and economic plundering. Most are after only happiness in this life, and believing that after that we all reach "Nirvana".

This sanctuary of truth was conceived out of the vision that human civilization has been achieved and nurtured by religious and philosophical has been achieved and nurtured by religious and philosophical truth. This sanctuary was created not from hubris but from goodness drawn from religion, philosophy and art.

Primarily The Sanctuary of Truth is completely constructed of teak wood. All the wood is shaped and hand carved on site by many Thai artisans, because of the environment (located near the sea), restoration is part of everyday building process. There are already cracks over the carvings and termites

There are also other activities and attractions at the place like: dolphin show, riding horse, speed boat around the temple, wooden carving and dinner.

Get there

From North Pattaya Road, turn right into Naklua Road at the circle before you get to Pattaya Beach Road. Turn left into Naklua Soi 12 (turn at 7-11), there are a lot new developments around the area and high buildings, be sure to travel right towards the end.
